Bruce Sherlock, Pub Landlord. 30s Bruce is a barrel-chested ginger, as hale and hearty as they come. He and Kris become fast friends from the get-go. An Australian, he has been traveling around the globe managing some of the world's finest pubs. He knows his stout (personally samples each variety) and can regale you for hours with details of how specialty brands and private reserves of beer and ale are brewed all over the world. Sherlock manages both the Falstaff Pub at one end of the hallway on the second floor and the Billiards Room & Whisky Bar at the other end. When Lord Hanover was in residence he frequently entertained his village pals in both establishments, afterwards staying up all night with Sherlock swapping travel and "lost youth" stories. The publican is mad about football, and is the star striker on the local village team, the Yobwell Yobblers, managed by his best friend, doorman Reggie McCabe. When Farnsworth had a run-in with Sherlock over the Australian's installation of a karaoke machine in the pub, Sherlock took the extraordinary step of barring the butler from the premises. Lord Hanover backed him by issuing an unprecedented written order and now the Falstaff and the Whisky Bar remain areas Farnsworth may not enter. Kris can be certain that if he leaves any of his possessions in either of the drinking establishments, they are safe from the prying butler, although possibly not from one of his minions. Bruce has a great singing voice and is one of the pub's leading karaoke stars. He sometimes composes original ballads and entertains everyone present by strumming his acoustic guitar and singing the tunes. Lately Sherlock, has had his eye on Savannah Reddy, the manor's new chauffeur. A motorcycle enthusiast, she is starting to regularly stop in at the Falstaff after work. Sherlock hasn't been on a motorbike in years, but hey, it's just like riding a bicycle -- once you learn how you never forget, right? |
