Minor Characters and Cameos
Malcolm Dupont, Director, 40s Malcolm, a Brit, is tall, blond and ruggedly handsome. He is a long-term resident of Japan. An actor well-known to Japanese audiences, he's well suited for roles in Japanese period films that call for a Western sea captain, trader or missionary. At i21, he directs the Manor House scenario in real time As it is unfolding. as such, he's often required to pull actors backstage and improvise some new behavior because the scenario has veered in a new, sometimes unexpected, direction. Malcolm often performs cameo roles in the production itself. Raemond Starr, Composer, 30s Raemond, an American, is a highly gifted and versatile composer-arranger, as he can create classical, jazz, folk, pop, rock, New Age - just about everything i21 requires to score its scenarios. He has engaging personality that energizes rooms whenever he bounds into them. Like Malcolm, he enjoys the occasional cameo role. Namiko Idabashi, Graphic Artist, 30s In addition to creating stunning visuals and animations, Namiko serves as Kris's chief liason with Japanese talent agencies. Currently, she's looking for a female pop star to sing in Camelot television commercials. Reiko Tamura, Videographer, 30s Reiko is highly skilled at producing top-grade video and special effects for each production. Her specialty is blue screening live performers and then compositing them into scenes. Like her two closest colleagues, Namiko and Megumi, she has a warm, effervescent personality. Megumi Kondo, Sound Engineer, 30s Megumi has an exhuberent personality and, unlike her peers, enjoys being the center of attention. None of her co-workers ever knows what she will say or do next but it's usually hilarious. She despises the Japanese marketing managers who she considers sexist, condescending, and dangerous. Kenji Saito and Hiro Nishimura, Sales/Marketing Managers, 40s Saito and Nishimura are sales and marketing execs who the Camelot chairman has transferred over to imagine21. The pair, who have been dubbed les saboteurs by the creative side, despise scenarios and the presence of foreigners in upper management. They want Camelot to remain the traditional theme park it has always been. Hence, they are constantly trying to sabotage the production. Kaicho and Shacho, Chairman and President, 80s These two individuals, whose names are unknown and faces unseen in this story, operate behind the scenes as the top executives of Camelot Corporation and several other companies. Both are direct descendants of medieval shoguns and have a samurai view of business. They enjoy watching corporate feuds from afar, seeming to regard them as their private, real-life kabuki theatre. |
